Bicyclist Critically Injured In Queens Hit And Run Accident
A bicyclist suffered critical injuries after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in Queens on Thursday, August 17th. The driver was driving a Mercedes Benz and speeding along 36th Avenue when he crashed into 59-year-old bicyclist Lorenzo Anderson, near 12th street in Astoria.
The Mercedes Benz stopped on 11th St., but the driver jumped out of the car and fled on foot, leaving behind one passenger. The police brought the passenger in for questioning, but they are still looking for the driver.
Anderson was rushed to Mount Sinai Queens Hospital for medical treatment. On Friday, he was transferred to Mount Sinai St. Luke’s for additional treatment.
Bicyclist Dies Following Accident With Taxi In Chinatown
A bicyclist who was injured in a June collision with a taxi in Chinatown has passed away from his injuries, nearly two months after the accident occurred. 59-year-old Edouard Menuau was riding east on Canal St. and was struck by the taxi after he rode through a red light. He suffered a traumatic head injury in the accident, which eventually proved to be fatal.
3 Injured In Upper East Side 2-Car Accident
The driver of a black sedan was critically injured in an accident on Park Avenue at East 84th Street. The accident occurred around 1 a.m. on Monday, August 21st. The black sedan first crashed into a silver SUV before crashing into a construction site. The construction site was not active at the time of the crash.
The driver and passenger of the SUV were also taken to the hospital and listed in stable condition. The driver of the black sedan was listed in critical but stable condition.
