When it’s time for lunch, our Queens personal injury lawyers love to take advantage of the wealth of diverse food options our borough has to offer. With one of the most diverse populations in New York City, people from all over the world have opened restaurants which showcase their native cuisines. If you’ve got an appointment at our personal injury offices and are looking to grab a bite to eat before or after, we recommend checking out one of the following eateries:
We order delivery or dine in here for tacos at least once a week. With so many taco spots in the city, it can be difficult to choose the right one. But Gordo’s is one of our favorites. It’s a small, casual hole-in-the-wall type of spot with a wide variety of delicious tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and all of your other favorite Mexican fare. We’re especially partial to the shrimp tacos, but carnitas and al pastor are also office favorites. Make sure to get a side order of their delectable, creamy guacamole and perfectly fried tortilla chips. And if you have room for dessert, you can’t go wrong with the churros.
Jora Restaurant & Bar
This place is only open for lunch on Friday-Sunday, so we like to occasionally end our week with a trip to Jora. This unique establishment serves traditional Peruvian cuisine, made with authentic flavors and ingredients. Sometimes we also like to indulge in their craft Pisco cocktails, which utilize all kinds of special ingredients to create unique flavors.
We tend to go all out when we come here – ordering a round of appetizers and cocktails before our entrees, and usually following it up with one of their traditional Peruvian desserts. The ceviche mixto is our go-to app, while favorite entrees include the grilled skirt steak with Peruvian fixings, the braised lamb shank, and the traditional sun-dried potato stew if you’re not a meat fan.
Finish it off with a flan, picarones, or quinoa y chocolate and you’ll feel refreshed and energized for the rest of your day.
House Of Thai
Several of our personal injury lawyers have an extreme affinity for Thai food, so we end up ordering delivery from House of Thai pretty often. The lunch specials here are out of this world – with favorite Thai entrees like curry, pad thai, fried rice, and much more going for just over $10. Appetizers are also extremely affordable, at $7-$11 each. We frequently order more than our stomachs can handle, and end up bringing some back home on a regular basis.
LIC Market is open from 8 am to 10 pm, and while you can have a good meal here at any time of the day, brunch is their specialty. Sometimes we’ll even stop in on the way to the office and order a breakfast sandwich or pastry, along with one of their several types of coffee to go.
The lunchtime menu offers option for all types of diets. When we feel like eating healthy, there are several unique salads available, served with a wide variety of fresh ingredients. Occasionally, we’ll let loose and have the slow-cooked pork or frittata of the day. There’s really no way to go wrong with this menu – everything we’ve tried has been impeccable.
